Fergus Cronin speaks as the poet, Brien Merriman

In response to an ad in the post office for a man who likes to perform, ‘Con’ came forward with a bawdy song and John Keane a historian and retired teacher asked could be give the historical and local context to the poem and poet, who was born in Ennistymon. Individual community members responded to local notices for those, “who like to perform” and there was five singers of risky songs sung at the Sitting.
